Luna Sonrisa is a bright, colourful, cosy yet spacious hostel in the heart of historic Cerro Alegre. The house, built about 1900 and newly refurbished. It has 4 meter-high ceilings. The hostel offers single and double rooms wih private or shared bathrooms as well as a comfortable dorm accomodation. The famous Palafitos de Gamboa waterfront is speckled with traditional houses on the stilts called „palafitos“. One of these charming little bungalows is home to Palafito Hostel, located just 15 minutes‘ walk (1,5km) from the main square. The antique facade doesn’t prepare you for the absolutely stunning and completely renovated interior. Inside are 8 rooms, private and dormitory, each with private bathrooms and central heating
COYHAIQUE / Hostal Salamandras 
The Salamandras Hostal is located in a forest near the banks of the río Simpson in Coyahique. It is a two floor wooden building with terraces and plenty of outside areas. There is a spacious living room with loft area for TV and video. Firewood stove, outdoor hot tub and internet, library and map library make this a cosy and practical base.
